San Francisco jazz delighter Vince Guaraldi was deep into his post-Trio period when he scored Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown in 1975, forgathering Fender Rhodes and lightly laced acoustic lines, as a cartoon caper ensues involving unreturned crushes and misplaced valentines. 'Heartburn Waltz', 'Paw Pet Overture', 'Jennie L.' and 'There's Been A Change' lay among them, and are now heard mastered from the original two-inch session tapes, providing a clearer listen into the melodic charm Guaraldi brought to the Peanuts world after earlier milestones like A Charlie Brown Christmas and his work with Bola Sete. First released in 1975, it returns here in a playful 45 RPM heart-shaped 7".
