Second time around for the first volume in the fabulously named DJ Bacon's first 'Super Disco Raps' release, a 2024 drop that added familiar and famous hip-hop vocals to backing tracks crafted from loops borrowed from familiar disco and boogie classics. A-side 'Pass The Dutch' is a near perfect fusion in which a vintage Missy Elliot rap rides a groove shaped using beats, bass and percussion from a mid-80s Sharon Brown classic ('I Specialise In Love'). Over on the flip, the familiar and energetic "golden era" raps of Kool G Rao ride the slap-bass-propelled rubbery boogie badness of Inner Life anthem 'Moment of My Life' - a Salsoul favourite that has long been a staple of hip-hop DJs' sets.
