AFU RA
Whirlwind Thru Cities (reissue)

Format: 7"
Genre: Hip Hop/R&B

Brooklyn's Afu-Ra was only just getting started when 'Whirlwind Thru Cities/D&D Soundclash' first landed in 2000, but you'd never know it from the confidence on show here. Joe Roach lays down a rugged backdrop for 'Whirlwind Thru Cities', giving DJ Premier plenty of room to work his magic on the cuts, before 'D&D Soundclash' drafts in Cocoa Brovaz and Jahdan Blakkamoore for a posse cut that feels like a D&D Studios roll call. Two snapshots of New York hip-hop at full strength which haven't lost an ounce of their punch.
