Eric B & Rakim get the unmistakable repro treatment by needle-moving edits master Smoove. 'Paid In Pounds' is Smoove flipping 'Paid In Full' by Eric B & Rakim, importing bruising, ironic UK-market-targeted wordplay to vinyl. He keeps the skeletal swagger of the original but adds band-packing funk filters, a winking tweak indeed. 'Ghetto' on the B draws from 'In the Ghetto', Rakim's solo-era track from the late 90s, again preferring to splice its radio DNA over rehashing the tune outright.
