By now the Montreal-based producer has become a lodestar in dance music, yet this new project feels like him stepping back into his own lineage with renewed purpose. Where earlier work stretched house into velvet-lit shapes, here he strips it further, letting rhythm do the talking. 'Space Invader' drifts in first, its woozy sample-work bending around a bassline that seems to breathe; then 'Championship' tightens the focus, all nervous momentum and clipped drums. Throughout, he leans into the grain of his craft: 'Backstabs' flickers with restless energy, while 'Shine Your Light for We' opens into something warmer, almost devotional. What he's really chasing is clarity - beat as memory, beat as present tense.
