Despite being a renowned lover of dance music culture, Elton John has never released a remix album before - something that makes this special Record Store Day 2026 compilation a genuinely notable release. Curated by the man himself (his tracks have reportedly been officially remixed over 100 times since 1976), it boasts a blend of new, recent and lesser-known back catalogue reworks. In practice, that means Shep Pettibone's classic Hi-NRG-influenced rub of 'I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That' sitting side by side with Clapton and Blessed Madonna rubs of Dua Lipa collaboration 'Cold Heart', a suitably grandiose and percussive 2 Bears remix of disco-not-disco number 'Sad' and a breezy, piano-rich deep disco-house revision of 'Rocketman' by KDME.
