DJ TOBYGEE - Keep On (7")

DJ TOBYGEE
Keep On

Format: 7"
Genre: Hip Hop/R&B

DJ Toby Gee, the Brisbane half of TakeFingz's two-man operation, runs solo here on 'Keep On', a potent edit, part four in a running series, and reminder to keep on doing exactly what we're doing. Keeping to their consistent ethos of oldskool hip-hop and funk mashed onto 7", 'Keep On (Doin' The Do)' is the crowd side - JBs-lineage grooves given a vocal treatment, drum breaks strutting under layered sample work and a cut or two to hold the turntablists' attention. Twirl for 'Jackin' 4 James (Part 4)', dropping the vocal pretence entirely and going straight for the legs.
