BEASTIE BOYS / JIMI HENDRIX / THE TURTLES - 5 Borough Breaks Vol 37 (7")

BEASTIE BOYS / JIMI HENDRIX / THE TURTLES
5 Borough Breaks Vol 37

Format: 7"
Genre: Hip Hop/R&B

5 Borough Breaks' 37th volume delivers another properly loaded 7" which includes New York rap pioneers Beastie Boys' 90s classic 'Jimmy James' getting its first pressing on 45, and it is backed with two of the original breaks that built it: Jimi Hendrix's 'Happy Birthday' and The Turtles' 'I'm Chief Kamanawanalea.' It's a filthy cut mired in dust and grime, with scratches, angular drums, bars delivered with typical Beastie Boys snarl and an endlessly evolving groove. Pairing the sample source material alongside the track itself makes for an extra satisfying drop.
