The late Chicago great Paul Johnson made many fantastic house records during his lifetime, but it's the infectious 'Get Get Down' - a global club hit in 1999 and heard on dancefloors many times since - for which he is primarily remembered. Here it gets the Groovin' Records reissue treatment. Johnson's own original extended mix, where his simple vocals and a relentless piano riff dance atop a clap-happy Chicago house beat - takes pride of place on side A, alongside a 'loopapella' of his vocal hook. Over on side B, there's another chance to enjoy Italian twosome Neiro's Dubwork's carnival-ready Latin house makeover, as well as the percussive, sweat-soaked, joyous and trance stab-sporting tribal house rework by XXX (another Italian production partnership). A record every house head needs in their collection.
