Retroised pop is a sound which many singers try to do, yet few are able to achieve it properly. Holybrune is one of these few; the French singer here rides her recent hype as the featuring artist on nu-funk producer Daebull's hit tracks 'DX7', 'You & I' and 'Day & Night', singing in both English and French on the new drop-topped bit 'Joyride', and is backed up by 3 more Daebull and Rude Jude-produced tracks. The lead track is swung and bass-centric, bringing together every 80s electronic funk drum, bell and whistle trope under the sun. Meanwhile, 'A Song To Send...' completely 180-flips away from this sound, working in a minimal slow jam to complement Holybrune's aether-bound vocals. The rest nails everything else in between...
