Boys Town Gang were San Francisco's answer to the numerous groups created by New York post-disco and Hi-NRG pioneer Bobby Orlando - an ever-changing studio collective, masterminded by DJ Bill Motley, who created colossal covers aimed at the city's gay clubs.It brought them international success, with their 1982 cover of Frankie Valli classic 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' charting worldwide. Here the track returns in fresh form, thanks to a suite of fresh revisions from French outfit Bon Entendeur. The EP begins with Ben Liebrand's edit of their extended remix - a disco-house affair full of filtered horn riffs, rubbery bass guitar and hands-aloft vocals - before we're treated to their full, string-laden disco-house interpretation, an infectious and tastefully done update that rises and falls in all the right places.
