New Comel / Ty All cut 'Breakfast Love' hears the Washington hip-hop fixtures and Time Machine adjacents chase a nostalgic sample transmission. When browsing Instagram, Comel chanced upon a beat by one Chikaramanga (of Giant Panda), one that was just crying out for re-use - not least since both artists came up in the same millennial DC breeding ground. Now worked to new verses from he and Ty, its dusty drums are heard edging again against a ghostly tritone vocal loop, as the two rappers contrast in happy, mouthy rivalry. Comel's delivery leans reflective and slightly worn-in, while Ty All brings a clearer, more direct tone, the two circling the same idea: they're on the warpath, but they're in the game for love too. In their words, it's "a narrative of defiance, love, and (the) relentless pursuit of success".
