ONEGRAM - Before You Walk Out Of My Life (45trio remix) (7")

ONEGRAM
Before You Walk Out Of My Life (45trio remix)

Format: 7"
Genre: Broken Beat/Nu Jazz

Flower's 30th anniversary compilation first introduced this 45trio rework to the world; now it gets its own 7" alongside the sharp, jaunty original cover version. Onegram, Japanese mover-shakers in well-covered reggae, supplied this take on Monica's 1995 r&b classic in 2022, calling on Rock-Tee and Takamiya Nagatetsu as co-producers. It did predictably well for its shoulder-raising bop, and it's a textbook case of near-perfectly recorded and mixed drums - audiophiles take note. The A-side here is the 45trio remix of their cover, taking a snappier, roomier hip-hop approach, while the original vocal sits on the flip.
