Edit You Up Vol 1
Format: hand-stamped 12"
Genre: Disco/Nu-Disco
Two Mr P (think American hip-hop star with mad instrumental skills and oodles of funk) cuts get the white label treatment from NYU & NS - a pairing of N-You-Up and Nick Studer who, in time-honoured tradition, take some top source material and flip it with a gentle touch. The originals' soul and swagger survive - 'Come ' is a sunny jaunt with killer funk bass and magnificent vocoder vocals, then 'Wrong' is a more upbeat jam with zippy cosmic synths and swaggy bass. Tastefully done and sure to make a mark in myriad settings.
