A virtual meeting of minds here, as original disco mixer John Morales and 21st century disco rework maestro Dave Lee share vinyl space for the very first time. To cut a long story short, the pair have each utilised original multi-track tapes to breathe new life into a swathe of classic disco, funk and soul cuts. It's a simple idea, beautifully executed. Highlights on this volume (a second drops later down the line) include Lee's soaring, string-laden Philly Soul take on Harold Melvin's 'Prayin', Morales' breathless and excitement-packed revision of Loleatta Holloway's Salsoul-era 'Catch Me On The Rebound', the same mixer's deliciously stripped-back, groove-driven flip of Dennis Coffey's 'Scorpio', and Lee's 'sleazy' mid-tempo disco-funk pass on Metropolis's 'Every Time I See Him'.
