Bakermat's debut comes six years after 'Vandaag' sampled Martin Luther King and turned the Dutch producer into a star off the back of its minimalist house instincts. The Ringmaster is a much fuller picture: ten tracks that move between deep house warmth, tropical swing and electronic flair. Jazz and soul inform the texture without foregoing the dancefloor intent and 'Baiana' is the centrepiece, naturally, off the back of it being Gold, Platinum, clocking 100 million streams and the FIFA 2021 official track. But the album's range extends well beyond a single entry point, with collaborators including Alex Clare adding to the character as the production throughout remains clean and accessible and, frankly, fun.
