20 years since her solo debut, Tokyo vocalist Azumi rebounds with a compact, past-present statement, 'Here'. Best known as the voice of guitar duo Wyolica, Azumi has long worked at the intersection of r&b, jazz and pop, though 'Here' goes groove, as her expressive, conversational delivery collides with the sharp brass lines of Tabu Zombie, a core member of Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, whose trumpet adds bite and momentum without overwhelming the song. The 7" also carries an exclusive extended version, while the flip revisits 'Metro Ni Yurete' in a remix by Yukihiro Fukutomi, side-eyeing 90s club clamour.
